Digi-WAVE Assistive Listening System

for Hearing Loss, Central Auditory Processing Disorder (CAPD), and Team Teaching.

The New Digi-WAVE Assistive Listening System by Williams Sound plays a key role in enhancing communication between teachers and students in classrooms, at meetings, and other one-to-one or small-group situations. The system offers connectivity to a variety of microphones, headphones, neck loops and desk top sound field speakers for one or two-way communication.

Digi-WAVE for assistive listening applications.
The new Digi-WAVE adds new dimensions to assistive listening in the classroom. With 2.4 GHz operation harmonized for use in most countries, the Digi-Wave is a global turn-key solution. Up to 15 systems can operate simultaneously in close proximity of one another. It is the ideal system for classrooms where one or more students have hearing loss, central auditory processing disorder (CAPD) or have cochlear implants. Two transmitters can be on at the same time for Team Teaching applications. For the first time, it is also the only portable solution that permits the students to talk back to teachers with hearing loss. It is slim, lightweight, and simple to set up and use. All standard packages offered by Centrum Sound are pre-programmed and ready for use.

The portable DLT-100 Transceiver (right) is the key component of the system no matter the application. It is capable of transmitting and receiving signals up to 100 ft. outdoors and up to 200 ft. indoors to other DLT-100 transceivers or DLR-50 receivers. All controls are on the front panel and also provide access to change set-up. An LCD displays current set-up, battery life, time and RF strength. The DLT-100 transceiver is equipped with a built-in microphone and speaker which makes it easy to troubleshoot external devices. A 3.5 mm jack accepts a variety of external lapel, headset or handheld microphones. Likewise a 3.5 mm jack accommodates headphones, earbuds and neckloops. The DLT-100 transceiver can also be placed in an rechargeable iPod/iPhone speaker dock such as the iHome iP46 (left), instantly turning it into a desktop sound field system for student with CAPD or cochlear implant. The DLT-100 has built-in Lithium polymer rechargeable batteries with 14 hours of use after a 4 hour charge. Each DLT includes a charger but it can also be charged in a CHG-102 two-bay charger or with any iPod/iPhone USB charging cable. The iHome can operate up to 10 hours on a single charge and will also charge the DLT while being charged.

The DLR-50 Receiver (right) is an economical alternative to the DLT-100 for facilities requiring a portable assistive listening system for ADA compliance. An LCD displays channel of operation, volume setting and low battery status. All controls are on the front panel and also provide access to change set-up. Like the DLT-100 the DLR-50 is equipped with a 3.5 mm mono jack that can accommodate a variety of listening options such as headphones, earbuds or neckloops. The DLR-50 receiver has a battery life up to 24 hours with two AAA Alkaline batteries. Power will automatically shut off after approximately one minute when not operating with other compatible devices.
