Featuring a powerful microprocessor, sleek
digital display, and easy-to-use menu controls, the PPA 375 large area FM
system from Williams Sound champions the next generation of hearing
assistance and translation systems.
The T35 transmitter configures itself
to the appropriate setting – taking the guess work out of complex audio
installation. Quickly choose between Voice, Music, or Hearing Assistance in
the application preset menu.
Operating up to 1000 feet, the T35 is ideal for auditoriums, stadiums,
theaters, or other large venues where superior coverage is essential. In
wideband mode it has 10 standard and 7 non-standard selectable
channels. In narrowband mode the T35 has 77 selectable channels making it
compatible with all Williams Sound receivers and most other manufacturer's
receivers operating in the 72-76 MHz bandwidth.
The PPA T35 has a push button controlled LCD digital display
on the front panel. There are three pre-configured (selectable) application
presets: Hearing Assistance, Music and Voice. Configurations for Bandwidth,
Frequency, High Pass Filter, Low Pass Filter, Compressor Slope, Compressor
Gain and RF Output Power and Audio Input Sources: Microphone, Line, Simplex
(phantom power) are also controlled with push buttons. The audio level is
adjustable with a 10 LED array showing +9 to -18 at 3dB intervals. Other
features on the front panel include 1/4" headphone jack for monitoring the
source audio or transmitted audio, input overload indicator and a
“Power on” indicator. An RF “Off” timer automatically turns off the RF
signal after 1 hour of no audio activity. The PPA T35 has a combination 1/4"
phone/XLR audio input jack as well as a RCA line output jack suitable for
recording. It includes a whip antenna but is also equipped with a 75 ohm
F-connector antenna for remote location of the antenna (20' coaxial antenna,
ANT 005, is included with the PRO system only). The Transmitter is powered
by a 24 VAC power supply via a 3-pin Molex connector.
The stylish, impact-resistant
PPA R35 Single-Channel Receiver features crystal clear audio and is
compatible with any Williams Sound Personal PA wideband transmitter.
Although
the PPA R35 receivers are pre-tuned from the factory, receivers can be tuned
to any one of the 17 available channels in the 72-76 MHz band. Receivers
include a detachable belt-clip for hands-free operation.
A standard 3.5 mm mono phone jack accommodates low-impedance mono earphones,
headphones and neckloops (right). The ADA accessibility requirements for
hearing assistance, requires one neckloop per four receivers (minimum two).
The PPA R35 receiver is equipped with a integrated volume on/off
switch and a green LED power "on" indicator. The green power "on" LED will
illuminate red indicating low battery power. The PPA R35 receiver operates
on two AA alkaline batteries for 100 hours of long-lasting operation. A
battery selector switch inside the battery compartment also permits use of
NiMH rechargeable
batteries. Operating time with NiMH rechargeable batteries is approximately
50 hours.
For application where hearing assistance as
well as simultaneous language translation is required, Williams Sound offers
the optional PPA R35-8 Multi-Channel Receiver. The PPA R35-8 share
the same design features as the single-channel receiver. In addition, it is
pre-programmed to operate up to eight channels simultaneously when used with
any Williams Sound Personal PA transmitter operating on the 72-76 MHz
bandwidth. A tall rotary switch added to the control panel (right), easily
lets the user select the appropriate digitally synthesized frequencies for
rock solid tuning to favorite program. The battery life for the PPA R35-8 is
approximately 50 hours with alkaline batteries and 32 hours with 1400 mAh
rechargeable NiMH batteries.
When AA NiMH rechargeable batteries are used,
up to 12 receivers can be charged at one time when
used with the optional CHG 3512 multi-charger (left). The charger
helps keep receivers organized and saves cost on
having to replace alkaline batteries. The charger features individual
charging LED indicators that blink when batteries are ready. The nominal
charging time is approximately 16 hours but may vary based on the rated
capacity of the NiMH batteries.
Williams Sound offers a Five-Year Warranty
on all FM transmitters and receivers. Peripheral accessories such as
batteries, cords, earphones, power supplies, headsets and neck-loops are
warranted against defects in materials and workmanship for 90 days.
