StarSound 400 Infrared Hearing Enhancement
System by Phonic Ear.
The StarSound 400 large area infrared assistive listening system
is ideal for providing hearing enhancement in court houses, cinemas, and other multiplex
facilities. The PE420E emitter panel covers areas up to 12,000 sq. ft. in
an elliptical pattern but can be daisy-chained with additional PE421E slave emitters to cover
larger, obstructed, or highly absorptive areas. The transmitting frequency of the PE421E is
switchable between 95 and 250 kHz.
Phonic Ear offers two styles of receivers with the StarSound 400 system. The PE401R 95 kHz headset receiver operates on two AAA alkaline batteries, has
360 degrees reception and is hearing aid compatible. A single volume control and an on-off
switch makes the headset receiver very user friendly. The PE400R body-
worn receiver is available with factory set receiving frequencies of 95 kHz and 250 kHz. It can
be used with a variety of separate listening options. Unlike the heavier headset/receiver
combination, the lightweight listening options ensure comfort no matter how long the listeners
wear the system. The PE400R operates on two AA alkaline batteries or two rechargeable
batteries. The PE300C 12-pocket charger makes a convenient carry case/accessories organizer
for portable applications.
